My firefox periodically has issues loading nytimes articles.  There doesn't seem
to be a rhyme or reason to the failure.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://nytimes.com
2. Click on an article from the lower section, with a url that looks like
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/14/business/14adco.html
(These tend to be in the lower section.  Article links towards the top of the
page look like:
http://nytimes.com/2005/10/16/international/middleeast/16iraq.html?hp&ex=1129435200&en=b256de128fda8ef9&ei=5094&partner=homepage,
and seem to work ok at the same time the other fails.)

Also reproducable by typing http://www.nytimes.com/ into the browser bar.
Actual Results:  
Alert box: www.nytimes.com could not be found.  Please check the name and try again.

Expected Results:  
Page should load.

- Ethereal reports no DNS lookups for www.nytimes.com.
- nytimes.com and www.nytimes.com are both resolvable on this box.
- Turned off pipelining and keepalive.   No change.
- Restarting browser and/or clearing cache has no effect.

1. export NSPR_LOG_MODULES=nsHttp:5,nsSocketTransport:5,nsHostResolver:5
2. run firefox
3. enter http://www.nytimes.com/ in location bar (get error as described in
ticket)
4. quit firefox.

Reproducable in firefox 1.5b2.  Instead of an alertbox, there's a pretty XUL error:
Server Not Found: Firefox can't find the server at www.nytimes.com.

Works just fine in Firefox 3.0.8, and has worked fine for quite a while.
