I think this is fixed in cairo now so this patch is no longer necessary (and is also no longer appropriate given that it should now use IsDegenerateRect).

I think we can close this as WORKSFORME now.

Seems to produce the results I expect. What problem do you see? N.B. you are testing with a trunk build aren't you?

When a shape has zero width and height getBBox() returns zero for x and y too. Is this how it is supposed to work?

Yes I am testing with trunk.
