This bug is a sub-bug of bug 313388, for making the bookmarks toolbar not suck
at working out what items should be visible. The current behaviour fails once
toolbars get borders (and so are not as wide as the window), and this needs to
be fixed to allow bug 313388 to work properly with the browser.

it will become impossible to work on this bug.

Hey James, you might want to go with a more accurate summary, like "make bookmark toolbar not suck at figuring out what to show". :)

Heh, true. I guess there are a few other issues with it ;)

Bookmarks and History are deprecated. --> Places.
Component: Bookmarks → Places

Ok, so the Places bookmarks bar works alright (well, it sucks, but for entirely different reasons to the old bookmarks bar). In particular, we don't have any side borders in the new plan, so even the old one wont break. Thus, there is nothing to fix here any more.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
