31349 - importing old mozilla profile does not work

i try out most nightly builds, the profile manager does not display my old 
profiles, why not? i delete mozregistry.dat and the /bin/ folder,
why couldn´t i suppose a directory where an old profile is stored?

Do you mean old mozilla profiles or old 4.x profiles?  

If you remove mozregistry.dat and the profile folder (users50) - you have lost 
connection to old mozilla profiles and will be presented with 
CreateProfileWizard.  This is expected behavior.

Any 4.x profiles should show in the Profile Manager - grayed out to denote they 
need migration. If you have only one 4.x profile you should be shown a dialog 
for you to confirm migration.

If you want to maintain a mozilla profile- do not remove mozregistry.dat.

sure, i want to maintain a mozilla profile, but it is said, that one has to
delete the mozregistry.dat on installing new builds, because format changes at
times, a few weeks ago, i did not know that, and wondered why somethines mozilla
was completely instable

Earlier there were many changes to the mozregistry.dat file and it was suggested 
to remove each time - I generally do as test profiles, but others here who test 
other areas, do not delete on a regular basis.  If a problem occurs it is wise 
to delete and start over-hopefully soon that won't be necessary-

Marking as dupe of 87145 (Need import wizard to migrate old profile components),
as this bug is about not being able to import an old Mozilla profile. Not to
mention Zero activity in 2 years, aside from noting that REMIND is deprecated...
