Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1 I have to restart Firefox when I'm switching locations -- work->home and vica versa (I'm laptop user and I usually suspend at one location and resume at another). In the office I do have proxy with usernam/password authentification and it gets auto-detected but only when I restart Firefox. Back at home I do not have any proxy. If not restarted, Firefox tries to use the previous setting (office proxy for home and no-proxy for the office)thus can't connect to the Internet. I guess that Firefox should remember the IP address that was used while auto-discovering proxy and if this address changes, do the auto-discovery again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Prerequisites: Have 2 networks configured so that IP address of a computer would change while switching between them. One requiring proxy (firewall blocks direct connections to Internet), another one without proxy. The one requiring proxy should be configured so that Firefox can automaticaly discover proxy address and port. 1. Connect computer to one of networks (let's say the no-proxy one). 2. Turn on Auto-configure proxy 3. Make sure you can connect to for example http://www.google.com. 4. Without closing Firefox, connect your computer to the 2nd network (the one with proxy). 5. Try to open for example http://www.mozilla.org/ Actual Results: In my case I can't because Firefox has not sensed that something has changed and that it has to repeat auto-discovery of proxy and it is still connecting dirrectly without proxy. Expected Results: Firefox should've sensed that IP address has changed and it has to repeat auto-discovery of proxy.
