User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Firefox overwrites the bookmark file after closing.
If the bookmark file is located on a drive which is not available during startup, no bookmarks are loaded. If Firefox is then closed when the drive where the bookmark file is stored is available, the there existing bookmark file is overwritten with a fresh (empty) bookmark file.
This has also happened on Firefox 1.0.7
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put bookmark file on a detachable drive (i.e. network drive)
2. Detach drive where bookmark file is stored
3. Start Firefox (note that bookmarks are empty
4. Attach drive where bookmark file is stored
5. Close Firefox
Actual Results:
Bookmark file is overwritten with a fresh (empty) bookmark file
Expected Results:
Firefox should never overwrite a bookmark file when it was not able to read it during startup
