During browsing a Coppermine based gallery I recognized following:
- browse the gallery
- open a lot of images to view them in original size

After a while Javascript's not opening a new window anymore. To solve this you have to restart your browser to contiue.
This happens after about 15-20 usages of links with Javascript.
Code example:
<a href="javascript:;" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('displayimage.php?pid=1354&fullsize=1','19751989724367f4d2a22d3','scrollbars=yes,toolbar=yes,status=yes,resizable=yes,width=275,height=770')"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a website with a Coppermine gallery
2. browse the images in a gallery
3. open a lot of images to view them in original size by clicking the smaller preview in the middle

Actual Results:
After a while you're not able to use Javascript opened windows anymore. The cursor is still chaning to a hand, which tells you that there's a link you could click, but nothings happens when clicking.
You have to restart your browser, than it works again.

Expected Results:
Windows should work as expected, even after using a lot of Javascript links, which opens new windows.

This information is for sure valid for Coppermine Gallery driven websites. It might be that this behaviour can happen also on other applications or websites, too.
Duplicate of Core bug 309775?
Same problem for me, with Firefox 1.5 beta 1 and beta 2.

It is not only javascript links. When this happens, simple target="_blank" links also stop working.

And it is not something particular to the site given in the URL link. It happens for me on any site, after a while.

Others have mentioned it in the newsgroups:

http://groups.google.com/group/netscape.public.beta.feedback/browse_thread/thread/cb4fa6772c6cefc4/b76af51bc9fa1740#b76af51bc9fa1740

I suggest changing the summary to

"New window links (javascript or target="_blank") stop working after excessive usage"
