Since 1.0 (see bug 265231) there have been substantial changes to the search plugins set. Also, the bookmarks have been rearanged to conform to the current requirements. Thus, we request a trademark review for Polish bookmarks, RSS feeds and search plugins.


1. Bookmarks
=============

- "Pierwsze kroki" is Firefox Central hosted by MozEu ( http://www.mozilla-europe.org/pl/products/firefox/start/central.html )

- "Aktualno¶ci" is the "Latest Headlines" RSS channel ( http://www.gazeta.pl/pub/rss/wiadomosci.xml ) for the biggest Polish daily newspaper "Gazeta Wyborcza" - http://www.gazeta.pl/

We were going to use BBC Poland ( http://www.bbcpolska.com/ ) initially, but a few days ago we've learned that Central European BBC subsidiaries will soon cease to exist, unfortunately.

** Wyszukiwanie (keyword searches)

These are keyword shortcuts for:
- Google (keyword: "google")
- Polish Wikipedia (http://pl.wikipedia.org/ , keyword: "wp")
- PWN's Polish Language Dictionary (http://sjp.pwn.pl/ , keyword: "dict", sample result: "dict komputer" == http://sjp.pwn.pl/slowo.php?co=komputer )
- Warsaw Stock Exchange quotes provided by bankier.pl (keyword: "gielda", sample result: "gielda AGO" == http://www.bankier.pl/inwestowanie/profile/quote.html?symbol=AGO )

** Firefox i Mozilla - odnosniki ("Firefox and Mozilla links)

These is nearly the same set as the one from en-US. The main difference is that we have MozillaPL.org instead of MozillaZine.org and we added a link to Mozilla Europe.

If a document is [or is going to be] localized, we link to the localized version (DevMo, start page, Mozilla Store, Firefox Central) on mozilla.org or mozilla-europe.org.

2. Search plugins
=================

- google-pl is (obviously) Google.pl 
- wp-pl is Wirtualna Polska, http://www.wp.pl/ - one of the biggest general portals, very similar to Yahoo
- allegro-pl is the biggest online auctions site in Poland; similar to eBay ( http://www.allegro.pl/ )
- wikipedia-pl is Polish Wikipedia, http://www.wikipedia.pl/
- pwn-pl is PWN's Encyclopaedia, http://encyklopedia.pwn.pl/ (PWN = State Scientific Publishing House, Panstwowe Wydawnictwo Naukowe)
- merlin-pl is http://www.merlin.pl/ - the biggest Polish online shopping site, similar to Amazon.com (books, music, movies, electronics etc.)
- pbi-pl is http://www.pbi.edu.pl/ - Polska Biblioteka Internetowa, Polish Library on the Internet - it's a government-run site which makes ca. 25000 books available for online reading, for free to anyone.

The pbi-pl plugin currently does not work, but it uses the URL PBI told us to use, this URL is said to start working soon.

Merlin.pl co-operated with AviaryPL Team during the creation of their search plugin, they even made some modifications to their own site for this plugin to work properly.

Wirtualna Polska (wp.pl) has replaced Onet.pl as the "portal search" in Polish Firefox because of Onet.pl's pro-IE behavior (e.g. http://muzyka.onet.pl/od2/require.html - many Onet's services require IE/Win). So wp.pl was the natural choice here. :)

As far as I know, Pike accepted the above-mentioned changes a few days ago during an IRC chat with gandalf. :)

3. region.properties
====================

http://lxr.mozilla.org/l10n/source/pl/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties

- all occurences of start.mozilla.org/firefox have been replaced by pl.start.mozilla.com/firefox

- Google.pl is the default search engine and the first one listed; Wp.pl is the second one (just like in the en-US version you've got Google.com 1st and Yahoo.com 2nd).

This one is a search plugin catalogue run by our friends at MozillaPL.org. Main page of this catalogue also links to Mycroft.
