Downloading files with the download manager should use less CPU time. They should be at lower CPU priority, at least for the default case. There a big difference in the responsivness of the OS compared to

nice curl

or

nice wget

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Download a big file.
Removing your old downloads from the list helps a lot.
