Google's new customized home/search page allows users to add weather forecast icons to their default search page. Using Firefox, the temperature forecasts below the icons are chopped off when I visit the page with my default font size (Western - Serif=Times Roman, Sans serif=Arial, size=12. Only when I blow up the font size (presumably then allocating more space for accompanying details of weather conditions) do the captions come into view.
IE does not suffer from this problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create Google "personalized" search page
2. Add weather conditions/forecast for some location
Actual Results:
Temps underneath forecast graphics are invisible or largely chopped off. Note one can kind of click-select-scroll in the little white space where the icons appear and roll them around a bit and reveal the temps -- until the page is re-rendered.
Expected Results:
Don't cut text off from graphic. I don't know if Google is using Javascript or fancy whiz-bang HTML, but it ultimately doesn't handle cropping/sizing issues the same way IE does.
Increasing my font size by one notch fixes display, though now all searches initiated from this page have big ol' characters.

Do you see the bug also in Firefox1.5RC1?

Sorry -- can you point me to where I can get this release (I take it's a development version?) I haven't found it yet.

Found it and tried it out on my setup at home. Problem seems to remain, though this I have to decrease the text size two notches on this machine before the problem appears. At work, for whatever resolution or default settings reasons, the problem appeared (on Firefox 1.0.7) at the "normal" font size. My guess is that I were to try 1.5RC1 at work, the problem would still appear exactly the same. If you'd like, I can try it tomorrow.

Well, I don't think I see the bug, maybe you could attach a screenshot of the bug?

not surprising it gets cut off (still does) after a certain font size, given the box containing the info is a fixed size.
invalid. It's just the page design/limitation
