WFM on Mac OS X.  Trunk nightly from 2006-01-11 gets to 10000 without a crash, trunk debug (with a few patches) gets to 5000 without a crash.
WFM on Windows.  Trunk nightly gets past 8000 without a crash.  Based on Martijn's comment here, guessing this was fixed by the patch in bug 322185.

with a trunk debug from 20060111 I get past 21000 but hang and have to kill the process but this crash is gone.
