I would like to have this feature that Safari has. The first 9 bookmarks in the Bookmark Bar are assigned shortcuts: Cmd-1, Cmd-2, ..., Cmd-9.
Reproducible: Always
I thought we had a bug for this already, but I can't find it.
Given Mike's bug 181030 comment 9: i'd rather do cmd-# for bookmark bar items, like safari
I think it's safe to confirm this.

The first entry in my bookmarks bar is a regular *folder* - not a tabgroup - containing a series of bookmarks. Hitting command-1 opens all bookmarks in that folder (all 45 of them ...). Is that the expected behaviour ?
Safari, as far as I can see, ignores folders, and just jumps to the first file (bookmark).

I try to open bookmarks in the bookmark bar using Cmd-1 etc and it doesn't work at all - ever. Is there something I'm unaware of? I've just downloaded the 2006061318 (v1.0.2) version and it still doesn't work. Yesterday I asked for this as an improvement and was told it had been done in version 1.0.2 and I was directed here - but it doesn't seem to work for me.
As for the problem concerning folders being the first items in the bookmarks bar - I simply moved them to positions to the right of (ie. AFTER) those bookmarks which I want to access directly from the keyboard - like my YahooMail bookmark which has always been nº 1 in my Safari bookmarks bar.

norman, this isn't in 1.0.2. It's only on the 1.8branch and the trunk.
