Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-GB; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-GB; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 Whenever I print, the default page size of A4 gets overwritten with 'US Letter'. I can work around this by remembering to change it back to A4 again before printing, but it shouldn't happen. It's not dependant upon the URL or printer and I don't get the problem when I do the same thing in IE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Invoke Print dialog (File/Print or use 'Print this Page' button on web page 2. Resultant page is sent to printer (or preview) as US Letter even tough it's et to A4 in the printer's defaults Actual Results: I see the page wrongly printed as US Letter in preview or as a PDF in Acrobat. If I print to my LaserJet 4000, I get 'Unexpected paper size' message on the printer and it prints wrongly. Expected Results: Correct printing to an A4 page as per the default settings. As there's no way to specify a page size in Firefox as in IE, it should have used the default page size of A4.

This may be the same bug as 118563, but it's certainly not resolved. I recently updated to Firefox 1.0.7 and the problem is still there! Symptoms are just the same. Looking at the history of Bug 118563, it appears to have been going on for years. Isn't it about time it was fixed?

fixed1.8 means that it's fixed in ver 1.8 of the Mozilla code, which Firefox 1.5 is built from. I suggest you upgrade. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 118563 ***

Sorry if my inexperience here has caused any problems. I thought I had the latest release. I recently got an automatic upgrade notice and followed it through. I'm not sure which part of the text in the Help/About box is the version number: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-GB; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 I assume it's the 1.0.7 part. This was previously 1.0.4, I think. How do I upgrade to 1.5? Why did the recent auto upgrade not bring me up to date? I'm running Win 2000. Could that be why?

You're right that you have Firefox 1.0.7 installed (the Firefox/1.0.7 part) - see also the top of Help > About Mozilla Firefox for a more human friendly version. I guess it's all a little cryptic if you aren't familiar with the lingo. Firefox 1.5 was only just released (Nov 29th); you can download it at www.mozilla.com. The en-GB version is not available yet, but should be out in the next week or so. You haven't been prompted to update to 1.5 because that hasn't been turned on yet, probably because of the heavy load on the FTP servers that occurs after a release. There is usually a delay of a few days to let that subside.
