If I change the theme in GTK while Firefox is open, the browser hangs

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Desktop | Preferences | Theme in GNOME
2. Switch the theme
Actual Results:  
Firefox hangs

Expected Results:  
Firefox uses the new GTK+ theme.

This happens on GNOME 2.10. Haven't tried other versions.

Same thing happens with xfce4,but firefox-1.5 comes back,after 3-4 minutes.
If I use Clearlooks theme,it takes a bit longer(around 5 min).With Industrial,or
any other theme,it takes few minutes,with FF using 97% CPU.
Strange thing is that this happens once per session.If I restart FF,it happens first time I use right click menu ,and then it works fine from there on.

GTK-2.8.6.

If the Firefox window is 'rolled up' using XFCE's window-rollup feature before changing the theme, Firefox will hang with 100% CPU every time.

I reproduced it twice, and killed Firefox both times with -SEGV to trigger talkback.
