320004 - Freeze upon connex to many URLs, & entering text in Google, rqs Force Quit to recover

Firefox freezes (spinning ball), have to Force Quit (FrcQuit shows Ffx as red). Using Powermac G4, 10.2.8. Ffx 1.0.6 had the problem, update to 1.5 and same problem.  Happens on connection and on entering text in web page fields like Google. Problem has been growing over past 3 months. Using Pacbell DSL svc wi Ethernet router to connect to DSL modem. 
   NOTE: I tried to search the bug lists, but when trying to list by OS, the Mac, the pages with Mac listings were not available - All listed topmost on one click, Windows listed topmost on next click, with no option to scroll the list, etc.

Reproducible: Sometimes
