In the address book window, the column headers over the results pane need to show the sort direction indicator so that it is possible to determine which column is sorted and in what direction. Becki Sanford <becki@talkware.net> has submitted a patch for this behavior. I have extended the patch to handle the default skin design for column headers. Ben has provided me with xbl code that enables this extension in the headers, as well as icons that match the default skin.
Fix checked in. Column headers over results pane of address book and address picker now show an indicator (on the sorted column) that shows which direction the column is sorted (ascending or descending). It works just like 4.x.

Build 2000-03-22-11M15trunk: Win95 Build 2000-03-22-08M15trunk: Linux 6.0, Mac 8.5.1 Verified that the sorting indicator is present in the Address Book and the Address Picker. The indicator appears in the column that is being sorted and its direction also changes.

Using build - 2000-06-23-09-M17, this appears to be broken again. Column headers don't really show up much at all! Should this be reassigned to someone else? Nominate for nsbeta3
Jennifer - can you file a new bug on this and re-close this one? Thanks.
Re-closing. New bug is # 43694
