User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Just installed Firefox 1.5. Standalone PC. Printers connected via parallel port with switch. When computer turned on in morning and Firefox is first used, Firefox sets its default printer to the Windows default printer. During the day, the Windows default printer may be changed for use with different apllications. When Firefox is used next, the defalut printer reverts back to the first printer used in the morning. The printer can be manually changed but if Firefox is closed and then used later, the printer still reverts back to the first in the morning and not the last one used by Firefox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just using Firefox reproduces the problem. 2. 3. Actual Results: The problem recurs Expected Results: Each time Firefox is opened, it should use the current Windows default printer. If the computer is rebooted or turned off, Firefox will then use the current Windows deafult printer until it is changed between Firefox uses.
I have this same problem, Firefox 1.5.0.1 on Windows XP. However, the default didn't resent to the Windows default at all until I manually reset the print.print_printer config in about:config. This problem is made more severe by the fact that Firefox was crashing trying to use my home printer while at my work office, my home printer being unreachable. Selecting Print or even Page Setup from the File menu would cause a crash, no dialogs even appeared. Once I reset the print.print_printer property, I was able to print. I will be filing a separate bug for this issue.
