User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5

Downloading media, while multiple windows are open of Firefox, and having a webpage play the media, then closing the browser. Firefox will hang and come up with a warning saying that must restart firefox before trying to open again because of critical error. It says in the warning it is because of mircosoft's media player plugin.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open multiple Firefox browsers.
2. Goto a website that will play a media file in the browser and play it
3. Try downloading the file by clicking on the link if available
4. While file is downloading, close the browser.

Actual Results:
Firefox hangs and then says that it needs to restart firefox. The only way to do this, is to Alt-Ctl-Del and find it in System Running applications(firefox.exe) and manually close it down.

Expected Results:
Not crashed or hanged, and if so it shouldn't be running in the backround still.

Noticeing that the program is still running, the question is since it closed out some of the program, did it close out all of the security features addressed with this or did those stay open. This problem worries me because it appears that firefox hanged instead of doing the default close procedure. This appears to close out the security features that are addressed with some of the browser's features, but still allows the program to continue to run in the backround of the OS.
i don't understand why this bug is listed as confidential, but with no one on the cc list, this bug isn't going anywhere. if a plugin crashes, all bets are off. we can and do try to resume operation when that happens, but in all likelyhood you'll need to restart the browser. and i'm fairly certain the dialog says as much.

i have no idea what security features you're talking about, but if you're afraid of someone seeing the contents of the program in memory, then you should actively remove the program from memory before you leave your computer.

if i run across this bug again, i will declassify it unless you provide some reason that it should remain confidential.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.0.2) Gecko/20060308 Firefox/1.5.0.2

I have exactly the same problem. After I get the error message it's impossible to do anything with the browser. so I have to close all windows, but firefox ist still runing --> using task manager to kill the process.
