Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; it; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; it; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Every time you quits Firefox a copy of bookmarks.html is made in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/ecc.
If you don't pay attention to that and manually remove these copie which name is bookmarks-n.html (n is a Natural as 1, 2, ..., n) your Firefox folder will explode (mine is now containing 189 copies for 97 MBytes from last manual removal 30 days ago).
This is not happening if you use an EMPTY bookmarks.html file (eg. the default one) and will happen with a normal bookmark (CMD-D) use.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Delete bookmarks.html in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/ecc.
2. Make some new ones (with CMD-D or via Menu choice)
3. Quit Firefox
Actual Results:
This will happen
Expected Results:
Only ONE bookmarks.html in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/ecc. is expected except a .bak

If you're running 10.4 then it's probably bug 294584, if not then it's usually bookmarks.html or bookmarks.html.moztemp or both being set read-only.
