Hallo!

Please compare http://pastebin.com/480160 and http://pastebin.com/480163 .
- http://pastebin.com/480160 contains the content of the clipboard when you copy the Tamil characters from line 2
- http://pastebin.com/480163 contains also the content of the clipboard when you copy the Tamil characters from line 3 and deleted "a" and "b"

As you can see the *last* character ் (்) is not preserved.

Attachment: textarea displays wrong character and / or wrong font

This screen shot probably does not belong here.
I could not identify the bug where it belongs.

The forth asterisk is not displayed properly. What you see is either another character or another font.

Reinhardt , please set View | Character Encoding to UTF-8 before posting any non-ASCII text here. Besides, I have no idea what to make of your links in comment #3 (there are just bunches of NCRs in both pages). Why don't you attach an html file in UTF-8 with a couple of text lines that leads to a problem in copy'n'paste?

Thanks Jungshik Shin for the hint! I set View | Character Encoding to UTF-8 .

If I go to http://ta.wiktionary.org/wiki/talk:Main_Page#bugzilla.mozilla.org and start marking at the first Tamil nink and stop and the end of "visible characters" I can paste here:

However If I release the mouse far after the last character (about 2 cm in the white space) I can paste here

I did not notice this and many users make the same "error". See comment at the url: "... I've seen people missing the last character often while contributing to Tamil wikipedia. ..."

I have been told at irc://irc.mozilla.org/BiDi that the content disapeared. This is why I posted the characters again.

Thanks for the suggestion adding UTF-8 attachments. I use pastebin.com mainly to trace the content of what I paste. (I made about 5.000 RTL edits and things are getting "better". You need to know lots of "tricks".)

I tried the steps in comment 5, as I understood the steps, and the last character of my selection was copied correctly.
