the details area is 1" tall, i need 6" or more to be able to do anything useful with it, as would anyone else foolish enough to click on the button. since afaik osx is perfectly happy w/ dialogs that resize themselves as needed, i think we should do that here.

Well as you can resize the window to any size you wish I don't see any problem here.

I agree with timeless; when a user clicks the disclosure triangle to show details, it really should resize the dialogue--it's nice polish.
