I've been seeing this one for months, but I couldn't find any open bugs on it,
so I suppose I shall report it.  Didn't know if this one goes under HTML Form
Controls or XPToolkit: Widgets.  Route accordingly.

Build: 2000031615 i686-pc-linux-gnu

Description: When a text form input is selected for the first time, it briefy
changes to a select box.

Reproduction: Load the bugzilla query page.  Click on any input which is
declared as <input ...> or <input type="text" ...>.  Observe how the widget
briefly shows what appears in one of the select boxes on the same page.  Also
observe that the bevel border is partially damaged.

Wow I can't type.  Edited the summary for the sake of sanity.

More information:  Upon closer examination, the text input widget flashes as
arbitrary parts of the rendered page.  My previou observation that the flash is
always of a select box was apparently just a coincidence.

What I observed is that it thinks it is a drop down list, so the clipping show a
a small black box when you first click it. If you click somewhere else and then
click back it does not show that. The black box show up on the right side of the
input field, where down arrow would be for drop down list.
