When selecting "Bookmark this page", the create Bookmark window opens as it should, but when I click to create, it seems that nothing happens, the window just stays there.  If I click again to create the bookmark, still appears as if nothing happened.  The only way to close or get rid of the create bookmark window is to click on the 'cancel' button.  Then, however, if I look at my bookmarks, there will be one shown for each time that I clicked on 'create bookmark'.  But even though they are shown in bookmarks, they all disappear, there are none there when I later reopen Firefox, for a new session.  I can not actually create and save any bookmarks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Click on "Bookmarks" in top toolbar
2.  Click on "Bookmark this page"
3.  A create bookmarks window opens in middle of screen.
4.  I click on "OK" to create the bookmark.
5.  The create bookmarks window may 'blink' but it stays there, does not close.
6.  Thinking nothing happened, I click on "OK" again.  Nothing happens again.
7.  I click on 'cance' button to close the create bookmark window.
8.  I click on the top toolbar "Bookmarks" to look and see if a bookmark was actually created.
9.  I will see a bookmark there, one for each time that I may have clicked "OK".
10. If I close out Firefox, and reopen it anytime later, all created bookmarks are now gone.

Actual Results:  
No bookmarks can be saved.

Expected Results:  
Should have been a bookmark saved for each page I clicked to save.

I am using Windows 2000 Pro, a model 'S-Turbo' laptop from 'I Buy Power', and manufactured by 'Uniwill', with a Mobile AMD Athlon 64 CPU, 1 Gig of 3200 DDR memory.  I an a network administrator, I am one of those 'geeks' who end up reformating and reinstalling their compurers to fresh, brand-new status every few weeks.  I have only had this problem since switching from Firefox 1.06 and 1.07, to the current version 1.5.  This problem has only happened in this ver 1.5, and it is constant, bookmarks fail to be save as described above each and every time I attempt to save a bookmark.  The only difference in my system is simply the version of Firefox.  I did not have this problem with any earlier version.  I can not find version 1.07 on the web where I have downloaded before, those places, like 'MajorGeeks', now only have version 1.5 for download. I shall look for version 1.07 on a saved downloads CD that I surely have laying around, and will make this problem go away by uninstalling version 1.5 and going back to version 1.07.

I do not use any 'theme', merely the desktop and environment you get with a standard windows 2000 install, I use WOW cable broadband for internet connections.  I have other computers in home on my own LAN, but all the other PCs have version 1.07 of Firefox on them, I use this laptop about 99% of my web browsing. I will revert back to 1.07 on it.  I do not know why this problem would not have been reported by many other users, why only me.  I have frequently reinstalled everything from scratch, 'clean installs', and every time when I use version 1.5 Firefox, I have this bookmark problem.

If you restart Firefox in its safemode, select the option to reset your toolbars and start Firefox in its normal mode again, does that help to restore the function?

I have the same problem. As a result, though I prefer Fx, I have had to resort to using Netscape. All of my bookmarks were deleted after an update (I believe it was 2 updates ago) and since then I have been unable to save new ones. Please fix!
