"Gong of Death" and error message:

do you have some kind of personal firewall, like zone alarm installed?

If you do have ZoneAlarm or some personal firewall this is probably a duplicate 
of bug 28403 which was resolved Fixed.  What mozilla build did you test this 
with (the BuildID field is for the mozilla build).  If your build is more than a 
few days old then you might want to try a more recent build and report back.
