Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051228 Camino/1.0b1+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051229 Camino/1.0b2

This is using QT plugin version 6.5.3. AFAICT, it seems to affect 7.0.4 as well. Camino ignores whatever types in System Preferences QuickTime is set to ignore; e.g., I have TIFF files turned off in the System Preferences' MIME settings for QuickTime, but if I navigate to one, Camino will still invoke QuickTime to display it, QuickTime *does* display it, and about:plugins shows it as enabled. In fact, it doesn't seem possible to disable *any* media type.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
(as above -- try turning off and on media types in the plugin preferences; they still show up in about:plugins, even with browser restarts)
Actual Results:
As above -- all media types still seem enabled.

Expected Results:
The plugin should not be invoked on disabled media types.

This could be a problem for compromised media types as it effectively prevents QuickTime from being "fenced in" to avoid viewing types that it could be compromised through with known exploits.
Have you deleted pluginreg.dat from your profile after making the changes in the QT prefPane? My gut is that this is bug 313700, as this always works for turning the plugin's Flash support off (after deleting pluginreg.dat)
I just confirmed that this problem exists when you change something and then don't delete pluginreg.dat, but it goes away if you delete pluginreg.dat after the change but before relaunching Camino.
