User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Sometimes menu items do not highlight when the mourse pointer is held over a menu item. Instead, the highlighting flickers as the pointer is moved through the menu item. The problem feels conceptually similar to keyboard bounce. When hovering over the menu item would normally reveal a submenu (e.g. in the Bookmarks menu), the submenu is not revealed. The problem seems to happen with "dynamically" generated menu items. For example, the "builtin" "Bookmark This Page", "Bookmark All Tabs", "Manage Bookmarks" menu items underneath the Bookmarks menu behave properly. However, all my bookmark menu items and submenus exhibit the flickering problem. All File, Edit and Help menu items behave properly. All Tool submenus work properly with the exception of the "Web Developer" submen (for the Web Developer extension). For the Go menu, the Back, Forward, Home, and History menu items behave properly, but the items for web page on the history stack exhibit the flickering problem. For the View menu, only the Text Size, Page Style, and Character Encoding submenus exhibit the flickering problem. It is possible to reveal a submenu, by left clicking on the menu item that would normally reveal a submenu by simply hovering over the menu item. No problems occur when navigating with the arrow keys instead of the mouse. I never saw this problem in older version of Firefox, prior to 1.5 Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: I have not found a reproducible scenario, but it occurs frequently. It routinely starts to occur after I have had Firefox running for a while and have a few tabs open. I have seen it occur on two different Windows XP computers. FWIW it is worth, both Firefox installations share the following extensions: Nuke Anything Enhanced (0.53), Open Profile Folder (1.1.3), Web Developer (1.0), Customize Google (0.40), Duplicate Tab (0.7), Flashblock (1.5).
You're probably experiencing bug 306426.
