Live Bookmarks should include a direct link to the site home-page Live Bookmarks are great to see what's updated on a site/service. However, I often find myself opening a live bookmark, clicking on an arbitrary feed item, and them going from that page to the site home page. Of course, I could also setup a "normal" bookmark for the site in addition to the Live Bookmark, then I have to have two bookmarks for each site. I would suggest another special menu item at the bottom (top?) of the Live Bookmark menu with a link to the site home page. See the attached super-rough mock-up: http://actsofvolition.com/images/screenshots/firefox/live-bookmarks-request.png It seems that the home page is provided in all RSS/Atom feeds either as: <link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://www.domain.com/dir/" /> or simply: <link>http://www.domain.com/dir/</link>
Here is the aformentioned super-rough mockup.
Want to attach the mock-up to bug 251491? :) I believe the problem that's been holding that bug back is reliably detemining the site homepage for the three gazillion types of feeds, or live bookmarks added manually, etc. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 251491 ***

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
Component: Places → Bookmarks & History
