User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060124 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060124 Firefox/1.5 When you select the option to force "_blank" targets to open in a new page, then the new tab ends up after the last open tab. This is very annoying when you have many open tabs. The option that forces new pages to new tabs is a killer feature, fixing this problem would make it just wonderful. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open many pages in different tabs, say 6 tabs. 2. go back to tab number 1, i.e. the leftmost one. 3. in that page, click on a link that opens a new page. -> a new tab opens, at position 7. Tab 7 gets the focus. 4. you quickly look at this page, then you close it and you usually want to go back to the parent page. So you close tab 7. 5. Tab 6 gets the focus. Then you have to look at all your tabs to find where you started from. Expected Results: The new tab should be created right after (or before) the parent's tab: when you close it you should end directly in the parent page. On situation where the annyoance of this behaviour is evident is when reading forums. Many people go through the forum's index and ctrl-clik on all the threads with an interesting title, so they end up with lots of new tabs. These tabs often have the same title, so it's not easy nor fast to decide what tab contains which post. Then they start reading the posts they opened, these posts often contains links (that are related to the post) that open in a new page. The problem is that you usually look quickly at these external links, but soon you want to get back to the thread. Unfortunately getting back to the thread you were reading is quite a pain as you have to look at almost all the open tabs.
