Steps to Reproduce:
The following code snippet using VLC was used. The same occurs when Windows Media Player 10 is used.

BTW you should substitute your own videos for testing.
one of those stacks includes vlc, the others are all over the js map and implicate heap corruption (double frees in some cases).

There should be stack with Windows Media Player too. I tested with both this morning. I can always generate more crashes with Windows Media Player if you need more examples.

Yes this is STILL a problem.

First test fx2 (normal mode) generated this: TB26556482K

Second test fx2 (safe mode) reported "vlc plugin illegal operation" was seen. No Talkback generated.

Third test fx2 (safe mode) using VLC plugin, two reloads of the same page causes a crash.

Forth test fx2 (safe mode) using WMP plugin, two reloads appeared to freeze.

Fifth test fx2 (safe mode) using WMP plugin, visit a different page causes a crash.

Firefox 3.0 beta 5 crashes nicely using either VLC or WMP in the above HTML samples.
Is this still an issue in Firefox 3.5?

If it is not, we should set the resolution of the bug to WORKSFORME.
Firefox 3.5 hang and fails to respond; no crash dump created; just sits there. Starting Firefox 3.5 in safe mode with the test page using either VLC or Windows Media Player, generates several runtime errors (R6034).

This is remains a problem.

when you get the runtime error, attach/break with windbg and issue:

Anthony: With Firefox 3.6.6 or later which changes how plug-ins interact with Firefox, do you still see the same behavior?
Firefox 3.6.6 appears to work correctly with either VLC or WMP. I had three videos playing at once (one avi and two mpg) The forth video wmv did not play, but that might be an artefact of memory. Loading & unloading the page did not crash in my test case.
Resolving as INCOMPLETE then.  If you can reproduce this at any time in the future, just comment in the bug, and I will reopen it.
