Details

There should be a way to go back to the most recent page in the last domain you were at. Maybe by double clicking the back button, or pressing shift left arrow as apposed to alt left arrow.
This is an enhancement.

If I am at the netscape site, do a little browsing, etc... and then go to Msnbc.com, do a LOT of browsing so that I would have to go back 50 times, it would be easier to click Back to last domain.
there is an RFE floating around for a 'hierarchial go menu' that I think would satisfy your request as well. You should check out that bug.

There is going to be a simple pull down menu for the urlbar. That may also help with this requirement.
