If you hilight a block of colored text from a website and then paste it into another Mac application - for instance: TextEdit, Stickies, OmniOutliner, OmniGraffle, or VoodooPad - the text is pasted as properly spaced and indented, but uncolored.
Many other applications on OSX will copy colored text, including Safari and IE, and paste between applications fine.
An example of the kind of text that does not copy/paste correctly is:
<font color="#804040"> 48</font> postURL = <span style="background-color: #ffffff"><font color="#000000">""</font></span>
<font color="#804040"> 49</font> sleepXSeconds = 0;
<font color="#804040"> 50</font> gets = {}
<font color="#804040"> 51</font> posts = {}
<font color="#804040"> 52</font> headers = []
I've tried this exact block of text with several other browsers and found that only IE (5.2?) and Safari(2.0.3) accurately copy/paste colored text, while Camino(1.0b2), Mozilla, Firefox and Opera do not.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit a page with colored font (or use the colored text posted in this bug).
2. hilight the colored text and use Apple-C or right click and select "copy".
3. Open Apple's TextEdit application, and paste.
Actual Results:
Black and white text, formatted as in the Camino/Mozilla/Firefox browser.
Expected Results:
Colored text, as seen in the browser.

Note that I've attached an example HTML file with colored text, as the stuff I copied into the original posting was formatted as plain text. Use the attached html file to reproduce the bug.

This is definitely a dupe of a filed bug. Might be Core, though.

I've searched several times and can't find the Core bug Mike mentions in bug 180625 comment 7, so duping to bug 180625, since they're related.
