Right now if I want to clear all traces of a website that I went to, I need to go to:
- Go -> Clear History
- Camino -> Empty Cache
- Camino -> Pereferences -> Privacy -> Show Cookies -> Gear icon -> Remove All...
- Camino -> Preferences -> Privacy -> Open Keychain Access
For someone who needs to clear their private data on a daily basis, this is a little cumbersome. In Firefox, I just go to Tools -> Clear Private Data and it presents me with list of the type of data I'd like to clear (with the option of not being asked for the list again and just always delete the things I have checked when I go to that menu again).
Reproducible: Always

Hmm... I just noticed that Camino -> Reset Camino does what I want. I always thought that would reset Camino's settings to its default (e.g. get rid of my bookmarks, reset the toolbars to their default, etc.). Same with Safari. Isn't the name for this menu option a little vague? It doesn't actually affect the browser, just the data stored while using it. Firefox's "Clear private data" is more obvious.
Summary: "Clear private data" setting needed → "Reset Camino" menu option is ambiguous

Private browsing is bug 251677.
"Reset Camino" might sound kind of ambiguous, but I defy anyone to come up with a better way of describing its actions in three words or less. Furthermore, we explain exactly what will happen when we put up the warning dialog after Reset Camino is selected.
This is either a dupe or WORKSFORME, IMO.

Also, this has nothing whatsoever to do with security.

I gave an example that was three words. "Clear private data" (or "Empty private data" if you will... or "Delete private daata"...). Since "Reset Camino" sounds so scary (I don't want to loose all my preferences!), I think a lot of people would avoid clicking it to even get the warning message. And if I need the warning message to be able to understand the meaning of the menu entry, I think that's proof enough that it doesn't describe the action very well.
The meaning is also ambiguous because of the menu placement. Someone reading the menu from top to bottom will see "About Camino" then "Preferences" then "Reset Camino" before they get to "Empty Cache."
I thought it was a security issue since it dealt with clearing private data. You can assign it to a different category, though. General?
We talked about this a little tonight on irc. "Reset Camino" could imply that we're resetting Camino back to a virgin state (i.e., a fresh profile).
On the other hand, "Clear Private Data" is just a terrible-sounding name. Moreover, bookmarks are private data, too, and we have no intention of clearing them with this function.

Confirming per pink; we'll discuss a new name for this feature soon.

What about something like "Clear Browsing Session"? Or something similar to imply using the browser, rather than adding bookmarks to it. I want to say "Clear Browsing History", but that's not different enough from 'Clear History'.
"Clear My Footprints"? "Forget I Was Here"? :)

Does this have to be in the in Camino menu at all? It's not something you do very often.
When we have private browsing, or something similar, I think we should consider making this a button in the prefs instead.

I'd imagine most people who browse the Internet every day do some kind of cleaning up before they leave their computer...
