* TITLE/SUMMARY
Context menus present in QuickTime Plug-in region

* STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0) Launch Seamonkey
1) View a page with an embedding QuickTime video (such as on quicktime.apple.com)
2) Right-click/Context-click on the QuickTime video.

* RESULT
 - What happened

The standard browser content region context menu appears.

 - What was expected

Behavior similar to IE/Navigator --- the plug-in should have its own context
menu, or no context menu should appear.

Thanks to mpt@mailandnews.com for suggesting this test case. (I assume it's a
known issue, but can't find a bug report...)

* REGRESSION

 - Occurs On
        Windows Seamonkey (3.20.00 AM commercial beta branch build)

 - Doesn't Occur On
        Windows Internet Explorer (5.0 RTM)
	(can't reproduce on Mac --- plug-in isn't working)

* CONFIGURATIONS TESTED

- [Mac] Beige Power Mac G3 (266 MHz PowerPC 750), 96 MB RAM (VM on; 1 MB of VM
used), 1024x768 (Thousands of Colors), Mac OS 8.6

- [Win32] Vectra VL (233 MHz P2), 96 MB RAM, 800x600 (True Color), NT 4.0 SP5.

- [Linux] Vectra VL (266 MHz P2), 96 MB RAM. Red Hat Linux 6.0 (GNOME).
[On Mac OS, QuickTime has its own context menu. I'd check Communicator on
Windows, but I've uninstalled it and am only using Seamonkey. ;]

on N4.61 for winNT there is no context menu when rightclicking in a quicktime
movie with Quicktime 4.0 installed.
so, this is specific to windows, right? (ie, not a prob on macOS.) adding pp
keyword.

The plug-in doesn't work on Mac last time I checked, so there wasn't a way to
check.
...thus, removing pp keyword.

yes..on yesterday's build, quicktime did not work. I am looking into that and
will log a seperate bug for that.
Using today's commercial build on windows (2000032909), I see the context menu
for quicktime come up with left click (kept pressed). Behaviour is exactly
similar to 4.x. Marking this one worksforme.

Reopening. Left clicking in plugin area brings up the plugin's context menu, but
right clicking brings up the standard browser content region context menu. This
is not seen in 4.x versions where right clicking inside plugin area does nothing
at all.

This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working
on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another
known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way
-- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

*** Bug 57459 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
The Adobe SVG Viewer 1.0 plugin has the same problem on Windows (tested on NT4).
When I manually install it into Netscape 6.0 PR3, and then view any SVG,
right-clicking on the SVG to bring up the plugin's context menu results in the
browser's context menu appearing instead. This bug is a major blocker for the
Adobe SVG Viewer operation. Please reconsider fixing this bug before ship.
I'm pretty sure this has already been fixed for RTM with bug 55822. Marking as
FIXED.

Jeff, please try the latest nightly on Mozilla.org.

I stil lsee this behaviour on the branch (windows).
I agree. The bug still exists with the 2000110904 Win32 build.
ok, let's reopen it...done

I wana see if I can fix this sooner. Looks like Quicktime is expecting a
different kind of event.

Taking a closer look, other plugins on Windows get events directly from the OS
because they are in child windows. The quicktime plugin on Windows doesn't seem
to do this but rather sends the click message through the document. It's the
same way it works on Mac. I think some kind of translation probably needs to be
set up.

Also, seem to crash in debug builds but not release????
