I am in favour of switching to this behaviour because most of the time, you are using the location bar to enter a completely different URI and selecting the complete URI will allow the user to type in the new URI immediately instead of having to click and drag (apparantly, triple-clicking is also broken, but that's another bug). Another common use case would be to switch to a subdomain, which is easily done by double-clicking.
This is also the default behaviour of Safari. Since many of our new users are switching away from Safari, this would be a nice touch.
It would be nice if this feature could make it into v1.0/1.1. The feature should not be difficult to implement and it is one of those nice touches that makes an application feel polished.

WTF? This doesn't happen in Safari, and I don't see a pref to toggle it anywhere.
Cmd-L works just fine for this. I'm fairly certain this is a dupe of a previously WONTFIXed bug, and for what it's worth, this was a HUGE complaint about IE 5.
Please use the search feature before filing bugs, Yuan.
