I love Camino, because it looks so much cleanear than safari and is so fast.
I would love to replace Safari with it, but it lacks a few features I'm using daily.
1. Think a lot of people that are new to Camino don't want to switch before they tried out Camino. But trying out means you have to import safari bookmarks and change the bookmark bar ... and taking the changes back to safari doesn't seem to be easy either.
What I would like to see was that Camino can use all the safari stuff,
or have a way of syncing to it.
Bookmarks would be fine. Passowrds, cookies, homepage etc would be great.
1b.
If bookmarks were synced
Searching in bookmarks through spotlight would be possible, the only thing left to be dones would be that Camino opends the search results.
2.
I'm missing the RSS features of safari. I really liked them. I had my news grouped into folders. looked at them all together if it were few new or I had time else I watched them selective. And safari remembers the layout settings I liked for every single one of them.
Reproducible: Always
I really hope this will help Camino to get the attention it deserves. If switching to Camino would be seamless I couldn't think of anyone who wouldn't.
We can't share/use Safari bookmarks because Safari throws away attributes it doesn't know about (see bug 298395 and bug 293440). Since we can import and export Safari format, migration either way is not that difficult.
Spotlight already indexes Camino's bookmarks.
