Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type in2.press enter3.return nothing

Actual Results:  
you get no search 

Expected Results:  
you get a search

it sucks

WFM. Have you tried:
-running firefox in its safemode
-a new profile
-reinstalling firefox in a new clean directory?

Brian: can you set javascript.options.showInConsole to true using about:config and try searching again? Then open the Javascript Console and copy any error messages into this bug?

I got identical situation.
WinXP Pro fresh installation, FireFox 1.5.0.1 EN.
I've copied my old profile from previous installation.

Search button was completly disabled.

Starting in safe-mode solves problem.

After some moment of investigation I've found reason of this bug.
I have istalled 'Search button plugin 0.4.5' http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/
When I disabled this plugin and restarted Firefox everything started to work.
When I enabled its again then search functionality stops working.

This means that search functionality from ctrl+k window does not respond to 'enter' key.
