User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; he; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; he; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 The Israeli IAA site (http://www.iaa.gov.il/) blocks Mozilla based browsers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Surf to http://www.iaa.gov.il/ with a Mozilla based browser. Actual Results: Site blocks browser Expected Results: Surf in the site and know when planes are landing in the airport!
Summary: Site blocks Mozilla browsers → iaa.gov.il - Site blocks Mozilla browsers
IAA is Israel Airport Authority. probably one of the most important features of its site is the arraivals and departures at Ben Gurion Int'l, Israel's only international airport (and considering regional politics, Israel's main port of any kind). interestingly, it blocks Firefox, but not SeaMonkey. on SM you just can't see the departures/arrivals list. firefox is redirected to http://www.iaa.gov.il/Rashat/he-IL/Rashot/BrowserSystemMessage.aspx , where it says "the site is intended for internet explorer 5.5 browsers and above". could someone please change the URL field to http://www.iaa.gov.il ?
Hah! This is the reverse of bug 334967; only Firefox is blocked, while other Gecko browsers are let through. Tsahi, did you ever contact them? This is pretty silly. Then again, maybe we don't want anyone to contact them...they might fix their sniffing so that they actually reject non-Firefox Gecko browsers too. :-p

I am not blocked by using Firefox 3.5.3 (full UA string below). Do you know someone who is still redirected to that blocking page? Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 Guy - You said they are going to launch new site on September and we are on October. Any news about their plans?
i just tried it, and on the first attempt, i was blocked, but subsequent attempts were not blocked. maybe their sniffer is broken too. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; he; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
I've re-requested information from them, and got a quick reply today. Here's the summary: [...removed some less interesting content...]
English summary for our non-Hebrew speaking friends - a. New website is expected to be launched in 2011. b. Meanwhile, flight schedule will be supporting Firefox in 4 months (or even sooner) and will be compatible with W3C standard.
Oren have published the full conversation with iaa.gov.il on his own blog - http://israeliweb.blogli.co.il/archives/36 (Hebrew).
I've just posted the organization's comments. In short, they claim they upgraded site is going into the testing phase, and it's currently unknown when the upgraded version would be deployed. http://israeliweb.blogli.co.il/archives/38 (Hebrew)
For the record, we have a userscript to make the website accessible from Firefox, so fixing it won't require more than watching the userscript' source and implementing similar fixes on their side. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/14464 This issue is a popular question on LINUX-IL mailing list and other places where using IE is not an option, so we most find a solution. Similar issue on Chromium: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=14334 (I can't add it to the related field since it is not a Bugzilla installation there...)
Hello everyone, Yesterday I was able to use the flight schedules using Firefox 4.0 beta 2 without problems. Seems that they have fixed that, and even added an accessible mode which seems to differ by not using JavaScript. Before we close this bug, can you please help me and confirm that everything is working well on that site? http://www.iaa.gov.il/Rashat/he-IL/Airports/BenGurion/InformationforTravelers/OnlineFlights
seems to work, ff 3.6.8.
