RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 41929

People

(Reporter: montessi, Unassigned)

Details

It seems to be impossible to subscribe to both secnews secure and
secnews public. Using a different name i.e. Netscape Secure and
Netscape_Public results in (my case) Netscape Secure cloning itself to a
second iteration, complete with subscribed news groups. Obviously a
function of the news server names being identical(?).
An example are <news://secnews.netscape.com> and <snews://secnews.netscape.com>
(also known as [s]news://news.mozilla.org), which both work and are /not/
identical.

I wouldn't hold the beta2 for this. How bad is it to not fix this at all in
this release?

clearing milestone, m17 and m18 are meaningless now. these need to be triages
along with the rest.

I bet there are similar problems with secure imap and non secure imap on the
same host.

leaving summary news only until I sort this one out.
