Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Places View, in the left hand panel select Bookmarks Menu. 2. In the same panel select a subfolder in Bookmarks Menu. 3. Right-click, choose New Folder. Result: the folder is created under the selected folder. Expected behaviour: should create folder *in* the selected folder.
Yeah, but they are all filed for another component. The new situation is Places. Of course there are more bugs filed for Places that once were filed for the component Bookmarks.

This is by design, unless the folder is _open_ in which case it'll create into it. This is to promote wide rather than deep taxonomies.

The problem I ran into with FF 3 beta 3, is I can't create a new folder/sub-folder combo with [Bookmarks|Bookmark All Tabs...]. Say I want to create a new Bookmark menu folder foo, create a sub-folder bar inside foo, and then put all the tabs in foo/1 . I can't open folder foo, because it has no content.
Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
