We need to hook up the mail/news search front end to the general search front 
end. This includes specifying the query (which may involve extending the general 
search front end to allow compound queries) and hooking up our results with the 
results pane.

ok, I have pulled out the searchterm code out of the filters dialog into an
overlay, so that I can put this in SearchDialog.xul

I realized yesterday that the one last thing that I was hoping to get in as a 
part of this bug is being able to double-click on a message and have it appear 
in one of putterman's standalone message windows. 
I had actually forgotten about this right around the time the tree broke, but I 
couldn't have worked on it anyway because I can't get any search results until 
the tree is fixed. :)

so it's up to putterman or PDT - another nsbeta2+ bug for that, or leave this 
open.

I think it should be part of this bug since reading a search result (message) 
would be part of this feature, I think.

except that feature complete has come and gone and under that argument we 
couldn't get it in because this bug should be closed (note I've already gotten 
an email about the fact that this bug is still alive from those in higher places 
:-) ).  I'm going to open another bug and nominate it for nsbeta2(43911). Then, 
I'm going to mark this as fixed and if anyone has objections, you can reopen.

I'll mark this verified, since the dialog is there, but it might be nice to have
the "This dialog is a work in progress! Please don't file any bugs on it!" taken
out.
