User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060320 Firefox/2.0a1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060320 Firefox/2.0a1 Hello, I found the Places features very promising. One thing I would find very useful is to simply have a new entry listing the currently open tabs, that is : [ Search ] <hr/> * History * Bookmarks Menu * Bookmarks Toolbar * Current Tabs <=== HERE * Subscriptions I don't know if it should be relative only to the current window or include tabs from all window, but it would be *very* useful to be able to have a list of the open tabs, type two and three characters and then find it. Using Wikipedia, I frequently have more than 30 tabs open to do some maintenance tasks, and it's a nightmare to find the good one in those cases. See the screenshot to understand what I mean. The advantage over the list in the history I'm using here to make my idea clear is that it will not load the chosen page in the current tab, but will open the page I've already opened in the good tab. Reproducible: Always
I've forget to add that they are extensions which provides this kind of fonctionnality which are very popular including the winner of the recent firefox extension contest.
Overloading the Places Organizer with a tabbed browsing enhancement really is mixing metaphors poorly. Better UI for the many tabs case is coming in bug 221684
