User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 This did not occur under Firefox 1.0.7; this only started happening with 1.5. When dragging a piece in any JigZone puzzle a large, grayish, blank rectangle appears over part of the puzzle. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://jigzone.com/ and click on any puzzle 2. Drag a piece around. Actual Results: A blank rectangle obscures part of the puzzle. Expected Results: Dragging a piece around should just drag the piece around, not cause redraw bugs. Firefox 1.0.7 exhibits correct behavior. MacOS X 10.4.5 I can't tell if this is Java or CSS/JavaScript screwing up.

Confirm. And in Camino, there is no display at the blank when dragging it. But the afterimage of the dragged image(piece) remains in former place. (The symptom is a little good compared with Firefox. ) Mac OS X 10.3.9 Java Embedding Plugin 0.9.5+d Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_09-233) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-56, mixed mode) Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060402 Firefox/1.6a1 Camino NB 2006040521 (v1.2+)

This yours, Steven? :) I assume it's a bug in the new Java Embedding Plugin?

> I assume it's a bug in the new Java Embedding Plugin? Well, it's probably yet another bug in Apple's Cocoa-Carbon interface ... but I'm the one who's going to have to deal with it :-) I'm able to reproduce this problem with Firefox but not with Camino. I tested Firefox 1.5.0.1 and a bunch of recent nightlies on OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.6, all with JEP 0.9.5+d (the latest version, but not the version bundled with Firefox 1.5.0.1 or some of the nightlies). And I tested Camino 1.0 and a recent nightly (both with JEP 0.9.5+d) on OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.6.

I've just released a new version (0.9.5+e) of the Java Embedding Plugin that appears to fix this bug: http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/ Please follow the Readme's instructions to install the new JEP to your /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and to remove older copy(ies) of the JEP from your Mozilla.org browser(s).
JEP is gone, we're using the NPAPI java now.
