This problem is only occur with L10N 1.0.8 builds on Intel Mac # en-US 1.0.8 on Intem Mac is OK, L10N 1.0.8 on PPC are also OK # en-US and L10N 1.5.0.2 on PPC/Intel Mac are all OK Download *L10N 1.0.8 Build* from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/1.0.8-candidates/ # I tried en-US, fr-FR, ko-KR, ja-JPM and only en-US don't have this problem Creat new profile and open Tools > Theme Extension Manager was broken and you cannot see default Theme. JSConsole Error messages (translated from japanese error to english) are: Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4366 Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4355 Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4355 Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4355 Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4318 Errors: this._composite has no properties Source File: file:///Volumes/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4375 These errors also occors when I open Tools > Extension and this cause that we cannot install any extension/theme on L10N 1.0.8 on Intel Mac.
Asai: What type of Intel mac are you using? Please let me know the machine configuration (RAM, etc) - are you testing with a fresh profile or one that already has extensions and themes installed? We did a bit of testing in the office. The QA intel Mac with 512 MB RAM freezes when I try to launch any of the l10N builds. We tested on another Intel Mac with 2 GB RAM and both the Japanese build and the en-US build launch fine with no problems in Extension Manager or Theme Manager.
My Intel Mac is Mac Book Pro with 1.83GHz CPU and 1GB DDR2 SDRAM. I always do QA test with new profile without any extension. # Theme manager don't show defaut theme and I tested to install some theme but # it cannot and I also tested to install some extension and it cannot too. My test for en-US, ja-JPM, fr-FR, ko-KR are all with new profile for each. Do your Intel Mac's Theme Manager will show default theme? Do your Intel Mac's jsconsole have no errer after opening theme manager? In may Intel Mac, Theme Manager of L10N builds will be shown but it doesn't include default theme and cannot install any extension/theme. If it's fine on your Intel Mac but not on my Intel Mac A: just problem of my mac B: problem which depends on RAM size # 512MB=freeze, 1GB=L10N builds have problem, 2GB=No problem C: some other problem...
WFM. I tried out the fr-FR candidate here and, using a new profile, was successfully able to install and run a new theme (Metal Lion), and was able to install and run the top 5 extensions listed for Mac (FlashGot, NoScript, Fasterfox, Adblock, and Forecastfox. Details: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; fr-FR; rv:1.7.13) Gecko/20060410 Firefox/1.0.8 Machine Name: iMac Machine Model: iMac4,1 CPU Type: Intel Core Duo Number Of Cores: 2 CPU Speed: 2 GHz L2 Cache (shared): 2 MB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: IM41.0039.B00 SMC Version: 1.1f2
Asai-san, Does the same problem reproduce when the default language of OS is switched to English? In 10.3.9 + PPC, there is no problem when the language of OS is Japanese.
I tried again with another Mac User (not just another firefox profile) on the same MacBookPro. 1. delete all profile data (delete whole profile directory) 2. run firefox 3. open Tools -> Theme 4. default theme isn't there and error will be in JSConsole 5. cannot install any theme/extension My MacBookPro's details: System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.5 (8H1455) Kernel Version: Darwin 8.5.2 Computer Name: MacBook Pro 15" Machine Model: MacBookPro1,1 CPU Type: Intel Core Duo Number of Cores: 2 CPU Speed: 1.83 GHz L2 Cache(Shared): 2 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0044.B02 SMC Version: 1.2f7 > Asai-san, > > Does the same problem reproduce when the default language of OS is switched to > English? > > In 10.3.9 + PPC, there is no problem when the language of OS is Japanese. All abobe test be me is done with Japanese as the default language of OS. And I'll wsitch to English and test again...
The default of OS language was not the cause of this problem. # after I canged it, nothing different except en-US crashed once But it seems that just my installation was wrong, sorry. I was runned from dmg (Firefox Volume) without copying Firefox.app to local disk. When I copied Firefox.app to local disk, no problem happened. I don't know why only en-US can run from dmg without copying to local disk and l10n builds cannot run from dmg but as far as I copy to local disk, ja-JPM and fr-FR worked fine. Sorry bothering you and I change this bug as INVALID. If you think that l10n builds should also be able to run on dmg without copying local disk, re-open and change summary or just enter new bug.
