Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060114 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060114 Firefox/1.5.0.1 By accident, my IP-filter used/updated a list that blocked all access to 127.0.0.1 / localhost. This caused Firefox to hang at startup, but WITHOUT any kind of error-message. The firefox-process would just hang in the background (thunderbird worked fine btw). While the error is of course that a IP-filter should never block 127.0.0.1, Firefox should have generated a user-visible warning / error, instead of hanging indefinately in the background. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Block access to 127.0.0.1 throug an ip-filter 2. Startup Firefox Actual Results: Firefox either start-ups very slow and will be dead slow at anything, or will just hang completely. Expected Results: Firefox should have generated an error stating that 127.0.0.1 is inaccessible and that without access, it cannot work.
