Opening the second tab of thunderbird's options dialog, I see the assertion added in bug 310985 that we're doing frame construction in the middle of reflow. It's due to a bug in nsMenuFrame.

Unfortunately, fixing this is pretty hard. See bug 279703

Hmm, is this still a problem. I added those few async calls in Bug 348304. Though, Bug 279703 is waiting for reviews anyway.
