The "checkin at 2006-04-20 08:33" was for bug 312238, "Use per-thread freelists to speed up JS_XDRString".  CCing some people from that bug.

I saw a crash at startup in an older debug build, but updating to after "mozilla/js/src/jsapi.c 3.258 Revert to comment out the XXXMLM mystery assert." fixed it.
