335232 - Firefox forgets toolbar settings

When i got firefox, I liked having the "new tab" option in the toolbar where back, forward, home, etc are so i can easily open new tabs. However, when ever i restart firefox, it forgets that I like the tab button and i must go in and manually add it again. It gets annoying having to do that every start of Firefox, any fixes known? Oh and btw, your "bad example" below this box isn't true but its funny :D

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click below the address bar
2. Pick customize
3. Drag the new tab option over to the toolbar.
Unforunately, I think this is a bug in the program itself, so I dunno if the Mozilla techies will be able to 'reproduce' the error.

Actual Results:  
It will stay there until i open a new WINDOW, or close and reopen Firefox.

Expected Results:  
Remembered that I liked the New Tab option in the toolbar.

Nothing else additional that i can think of...

Are your bookmarks missing as well?  If you follow the fix linked by Ria and then update to 1.5.0.3 or 1.5.0.4 does the problem still happen, or is it fixed for you now?

Shouldn't this be marked as "RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 319196" as per https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=319196#c11 ?  Or was it determined that this was not a duplicate?

This seems to work correctly on the latest version of Firefox.
