The Firefox start page can only be displayed if the browser is already open, so I suspect it is not clear to me what the problem is. Here is a page with several known issues. Please try out what seems to be appropriate. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Issues_%28Firefox%29

I go to www.mozilla.com and download Firefox 1.5.0.3. I install using the directions and evertything looks fine. The I click the Mozilla Firefox icon on my desktop and I get the Firefox Start Page insread of a browser. I cannot get the Browser. Repeat, I only get the Firefox Start page which only contains a Google Search Bar. The Firefox Start page is not a browser. I cannot display your browser. Then I try to remove Firefox using Control panel. The hour-glass comes on for about a second, goes away, and then my sytem hangs up -- meaning I cannot enter anything in any applications or programs. I have to boot the system. I am running on a new Dell XPS 600 PC. I use the Internet Explorer and the Netscape browsers without problems. My OS is XP Professional. Please advise what other info you need from me. Your initial e-mail response to my bug report made no sense. Thank you for sharing my problem and concerns. I am an Independent Consultant and one thing I do for my customers is Web Pages. I need to know what they look like in all popular browsers. Please help.
