Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: Can't ever repoduce, but you will see it if you use Cairo nightlies and try to post in form fields (ie. forums.mozillazine.org) 1.In a form field. focus the cursor (caret) next to a letter. 2.Type a letter. 3.Observe, the letter you typed appears one space to the left of the caret, one space from where you expected it to be. Expected Results: The character should appear where the caret is focused. Regressed with Places? I'll work on a regression range...

Also seen on TB Trunk recently. Cannot reproduce reliably, but seems to appear after I'm using the text field or text area for a while. At times, when the insertion point is at the end of a line, the caret appears at the beginning of the next line. Leaving unconfirmed as I cannot suggest steps to reproduce reliably.

I've seen this also once or twice some time ago. Regression from the caret overhaul maybe?

I see this a lot while on a bonsai query and I go to change the number of hours for checkins in the location bar
Steps to reproduce everytime: Go to any bonsai query, click in the location bar to insert the caret somewhere, hit the number '1' and the 1 is inserted and the caret ends up in the middle of the next letter.
This WFM on Mac with the steps in comment #6 (and I haven't seen it elsewhere), so I'm guessing it might be cairo-related.
I've also seen this or something similar in the address field for some addresses. For example copy address http://www.dvdplaza.fi/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104 to address field and move the caret to next to last position and it will blink in the middle of number 4.

If you can reproduce in a 2006-07-20 build and not in today's build, then yes, I'd say this is fixed. But please resolve as WORKSFORME unless you can pinpoint which patch/bug fixed this.
I haven't seen this for a good while, so resolving wfm.
