338636 - Want to delete a search engine via context menu

Latest Firefox trunk has "Management Search Engine List"
window and it is possible to delete a search engine
in the window.
But it is easier if we can delete a search engine
via context menu of the drop down list of search box.
Isn't it a good idea?

I thnk this is related to bug 261124.

This wouldn't simplify the interface IMHO. Firefox is supposed to have a simple interface, not a million different ways to do the same thing.

Firefox is about consitency, and providing choice.  Bookmarks can be deleted within the same UI in a context menu, so many users therefore expect the same to be true elsewhere, not contradicted.  Bookmarks are deleteable and re-orderable in the same UI, and also in the manager, provindg choice to the user.  

Some, and most, prefer to simply delete an item within the same UI dropdown, others in the Bookmark manager.  Some do both.  Forcing one way only confuses and dis conveniences many users regardless, especially if its different to whats apparent elsewhere in the browser (bookmarks and tabs) and forcing a seperate UI only.  

Firefox is about choice, do not take that away from the user.  The same capability of deleting and re-ordering should be possible within the same UI therfore aswell for these reasons.

I must agree here; Search menu needs to work the same as the bookmarks menu in terms of deleting search plugins on the spot.

It should also be possible to sort them directly on the menu without opening Manage Search Engines window.

Just FYI, this is the way how it is done in the engine manager:
http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/annotate/aac514561b0b/browser/components/search/content/engineManager.js#l126. The context menu should be doing something similar.

Probably a good first bug.
